The Olivet College men's basketball team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Kalamazoo College, 108-103, this evening at the Anderson Athletic Center in Kalamazoo.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Olivet College men's basketball team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Kalamazoo College, 108-103, this evening at the Anderson Athletic Center in Kalamazoo.

- The Hornets held a 12-4 lead at the 17:49 mark of the opening half. The Comets answered with an 18-3 run to take a seven-point lead, 22-15, with 12:13 left until halftime. Kalamazoo closed the gap to two points, 27-25, before Olivet went on a 17-8 to take their largest lead of the game, 44-33. The Hornets scored eight of the final 10 points of the half to trail by just five points, 46-41, at the break.
- The Hornets used a 10-2 run to start the second half to re-gain the lead. Kalamazoo's lead eventually grew to 15 points, 88-73, at the 7:20 mark. The closest the Comets would get for the rest of the game was the five-point margin of defeat.
- Junior Chris Martin topped the team with 28 points.
- Junior Shawn Pardee scored 22 points.
- Freshman Britton Angell netted a season-high 20 points.
- Junior Eddie Thigpen contributed 16 points.
- Angell, Martin and Pardee each grabbed eight rebounds.
- Five players reached double digits in the scoring column.
- Ben Reiter led all scorers with 32 points. He also pulled down eight rebounds.
- Tanner Blyly had 23 points and nine assists.
- Merritt Hamann finished with 13 points.
- Jack Smith and Jarnard Smith tallied 12 and 10 points, respectively.
- Olivet's 103 points is the most in a MIAA contest since Feb. 16, 2005, when it had 108 vs. Trine (Ind.) University.
- The 211 combined points is 13th-highest total in school history among all games and seventh-high among just MIAA games.
- Olivet hosts Alma College Saturday at 7 p.m. Reminder that all remaining home basketball games this season will be played at the Upton Center Gymnasium.
