Adams secures 2017-18 D3hoops.com All-America honors, scores 19 points in NABC All-Star game
Olivet College senior Jalen Adams has secured 2017-18 D3hoops.com All-America Second Team honors. In addition, he led the West team with 19 points in today’s Reese’s NABC All-Star game.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Olivet College senior Jalen Adams has secured 2017-18 D3hoops.com All-America Second Team honors. In addition, he led the West team with 19 points in today's Reese's NABC All-Star game.
Adams averaged a double-double for the Comets at 26.2 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. He set a single-season school record with 707 points and 541 field goal attempts, and had the second-most field goals made (266) and fourth-most rebounds (288).
Adams led the Comets to a share of the 2018 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championship. He was named the MIAA's Most Valuable Player and was a first-team All-MIAA selection.
Adams joins Michael McClary, as the only men's basketball players in school history to be named to the D3hoops.com All-America teams. McClary was an honorable selection in 2010 and a second-team pick in 2011.
Adams started for the West team in the All-Star game that was held at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Virginia. He played 24 minutes, making 9-of-15 baskets, including one from behind the arc, for his 19 total points. Adams also grabbed six rebounds.
