ALMA, Mich. – The Olivet College men's basketball team ended its 2016-17 campaign with a 113-90 loss to Alma College this afternoon at the Art Smith Arena in Alma.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- With the score knotted at 12-12, the Scots scored five straight to go up 17-12.
- Alma then doubled up its lead 26-16 with 13:40 left in the first half.
- The Comets went on a 12-0 run, capped by a three-pointer by senior Chris Chrzan, to go up 28-26.
- The Scots answered with a 14-5 scoring spurt to take a 40-33 lead.
- After Olivet made a free throw, Alma made three baskets from behind the arc to ignite another large scoring run to gain a 17-point lead, 59-42, with two minutes remaining in the opening half.
- The Comets put seven of the final eight points on the scoreboard to trail by 11 points, 60-49, at halftime.
- In the first half, the Scots made 19 baskets, including 11 from three-point range, and 11 free throws for their 60 points. Olivet had 18 baskets, including seven treys, and six free throws for its 49 points.
- The Scots continued their hot shooting in the second half. Alma made 16-of-33 baskets, with 14-of-29 from behind the arc.
- For the game, Alma shot 50.0 percent (35-of-70) from the floor, including 25-of-50 from three-point range. The Comets were 31-of-77 (40.3 percent), including 12-of-30 (40.0 percent) from downtown. The Scots drained two more free throws, 18 to 16.
FOR THE COMETS
- All five Olivet starters scored in double figures.
- Senior Eric Ewing led the way with 20 points.
- Senior Aaron Washington had 13 points, followed by senior Kevin Woodson with 11.
- Senior R.J. Haas and junior Jordan Terry each had 10.
- Senior Zach Walker dished out seven assists.
- Woodson grabbed a team-leading seven rebounds.
FOR THE SCOTS
- Preston Laketa led all players with 26 points.
- Steven Harvey added 24 points.
- Trevor Gernaat posted a double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds.
- Tyler Edwards had 12 points.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Ewing finishes the season with 514 points, which is the fourth-most in school history. His other single-season ranks are sixth in field goals made (183) and third in field goals attempted (427).
- Washington tops the single-season ledger with 75 three-pointers made and is second with 185 three-pointers attempted.
