OXFORD, Ohio – Senior Eric Ewing scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Olivet College men's basketball team in an 89-69 loss to NCAA Division I foe Miami University of Ohio this evening at Millett Hall in Oxford, Ohio.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team led by more than four points in the first five minutes of the game.
- Miami built the largest lead for either team, 15-9, at the 14:26 mark.
- The Comets responded with seven straight points to go up 16-15.
- The teams traded baskets until the Comets took their largest lead in the game, 26-20, after Ewing and senior Aaron Washington nailed back-to-back three pointers.
- The RedHawks responded with a 12-4 run to take a 32-30 lead.
- Miami then scored 13 straight points for 45-30 advantage with 1:45 left before halftime.
- Olivet scored the final 10 points of the opening half to trail by only five points, 45-40, at the break. The run was started by back-to-back triples by senior Chris Chrzan and ended by back-to-back layups by Ewing.
- The Comets would not get any closer during the second half.
FOR THE COMETS
- Ewing made 11-of-20 baskets, including three from three-point range, and 4-of-6 free throws for his 29 points.
- Washington scored 16 points off the bench.
- Chrzan finished with eight points.
- Despite fouling out early in the second half, junior Jordan Terry grabbed a team-leading six rebounds.
- Junior P.J. Trammell dished out five assists in 13 minutes.
FOR THE REDHAWKS
- Miami had four players score in double figures, led by Logan Mclane's 17 points.
- Michael Weathers contributed 16 points, while twin brother, Marcus, had 11.
- Rod Mills had 11 points.
- Mclane also pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
