PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Olivet College men's basketball team dropped a 77-65 decision to Trinity Christian (Ill.) College this afternoon at the DeVos Gym in Palos Heights, Illinois.
Senior Lee Gardner scored the first five points of the game for the Comets, and they led 5-4. The Trolls answered with a three-pointer to take a 7-5 lead and they did not give it up for the rest of the game. Trinity Christian led by as many as 16 points late in the first half. Olivet chipped away at its deficit and trailed by single digits, 72-63, after Gardner made a three-pointer.
Gardner finished with 29 points and eight rebounds to pace the Comets. Freshman Chris Chrzan contributed 12 points.
Myles Birgans led the Trolls with 15 points. Nari Garrett came off the bench to score 13 points.
The Comets will travel to play Manchester (Ind.) University next Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 7:30 p.m.
