Bio

Dan Musielewicz was promoted to head coach at The University of Olivet in January 2017 following five seasons as the offensive and recruiting coordinator. In his first season as the head coach in 2018, he led the Comets to a 6-4 overall record. In 2019, Musielewicz led Olivet to an 8-2 record, including tying for second-place in the MIAA standings with a 5-2 record.

In the COVID-shortened spring season of 2020-21, the Comets won one of four games. One of the losses was a one-point decision. In 2021, the Comets had a 7-3 overall record. Olivet won its first four games, lost the next three games and ended the season with three straight wins.

Before coming to Olivet, Musielewicz served as the wide receivers coach at Trine (Ind.) University from 2006-11. During his time there, the Thunder won three consecutive Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championships. Trine also made three straight trips to the NCAA Division III Playoffs, advancing as far as the second round in 2009 and 2010.

Prior to joining the Trine staff, Musielewicz was an assistant football and basketball coach at Tecumseh High School for one year.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, physical education and integrated science from Hillsdale College in 2005. While there, he played four years of football at receiver and one year of basketball for the Chargers.

Musielewicz earned a master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia (Calif.) University in May 2012.

He lives in Quincy with wife, Darcie, and daughter, Kendyl, and son, Davin.
