Football: Olivet loses to No. 14 Alma, 41-20

ALMA, Mich. – The University of Olivet football team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association leader Alma College, 41-20, today at Bahlke Field. The Scots are ranked No. 14 in this week's D3football.com Top 25 poll.

- The Comets received the opening kickoff and used a 14-play drive to score a touchdown. Freshman Christopher White ended the drive with a 2-yard run into the end zone. Freshman Wesley Franco's PAT kick was good.
- Alma put 26 straight points on the scoreboard to take a 26-7 lead at halftime.
- The Scots added another touchdown on their first drive of the third quarter to extend their lead to 32-7 at the 9:58 mark.
- Olivet put seven points on the scoreboard in the third quarter when junior Evan Ormsby tossed a 3-yard touchdown pass to freshman Kevin Lebron-Hill, and Franco converted the ensuing PAT kick.
- The Comets trimmed their deficit down to 12 points with 11:07 left in the game when Ormsby threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to senior SirQuarius Ball. The PAT kick was blocked.
- Alma scored the final nine points of the game on a safety and touchdown.
- Olivet finished the game with 284 yards of offense – 191 through the air and 93 on the ground.
- Ormsby was 16-of-23 for 187 yards and two touchdowns.
- Lebron-Hill was his favorite target with six receptions for 84 yards.
- Sophomore Samuel Kunnuji rushed for 113 net yards on 31 carries.
- Freshman Fulton Reed recorded a 47.7-yard average on three punts.
- Freshman James Banks led the defense with 13 total tackles, including seven solo.
- Olivet plays its final two games of the season at home inside the Cutler Athletic Complex. The first is next Saturday, Nov. 4, against Albion College and the season-finale is Saturday, Nov. 11, against Adrian College. Both games kick-off at 1 p.m.
