They now advance to the 2020-21 CoSIDA NCAA Division III Academic All-America® ballot, where two teams will be named next month.
The criteria for nomination includes a 3.30 or higher cumulative grade point average. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and schools opting out of the season, career statistics and honors were a part of the nomination instead of season statistics.
As a linebacker, Campbell finished the shortened 2020-21 season with 16 total tackles in three games. Over the last three seasons, 23 games, he has 105 total tackles, including 56 solo stops. An accounting major, Campbell has registered nine tackles for loss.
As a defensive lineman, Curl earned All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) First Team honors in 2020-21. He ranked second on the team with 21 total tackles in four games. A criminal justice major, all three and one-half of Curl's tackles for loss were quarterback sacks for negative 12 yards. Last year, the 2019 season, he had five tackles in his only game played.
As a tight end, Young is a two-time All- MIAA pick – second-team in 2019 and first-team in 2020-21. He has 28 career receptions for 365 yards and three touchdowns. An exercise major major, Young is a two-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll recipient.
The Academic All-District teams include student-athletes divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. Olivet is in District VI, which includes schools in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. This is the ninth year of the expanded Academic All-America® program as CoSIDA moved from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non-Division I) and has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored. The expanded teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA participants. A new college division featuring Canadian and two-year schools was introduced in 2019.
