The Comets are coming off a 52-25 win over Concordia University Chicago (Ill.) Sept. 8 in its home-opener at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. Olivet rolled up 579 yards of offense, and did not commit a turnover. Sophomore Matthew Ellis rushed 20 times for 181 yards and two touchdowns. Junior Jamaul Martin had 26 carries for 151 yards and two touchdowns. Senoor Lane Porter threw for 250 yards on 20-of-25 passing. Sophomore Anthony Higginbotham caught a team-best seven passes for 50 yards. Senior Jacob Jodway had four receptions for 99 yards, including a 69-yard touchdown catch.
Defensively, senior Chase Cavric topped the team with 12 tackles, including seven solo stops Senior Jacob Jordan recorded eight tackles. Senior Brandon Mitchell tallied four tackles, with two quarterback sacks for minus eight yards.
Benedictine enters the game with a 0-2 record. The Eagles lost 55-38 at Franklin (Ind.) College on Sept. 1 and 39-20 to Loras (Iowa) College Sept. 8. Joshua Williams leads the ground game with 30 carries for 176 yards. Two quarterbacks have combined to complete 43-of-79 passes for 440 yards. Brandon Adams has a team-best eight receptions for 80 yards. Jameel Stephens has hauled in seven passes for 82 yards. Danny Wood leads the defense with 21 total tackles.
