Olivet’s Washington selected MIAA Offensive Player of the Week for football
Olivet College senior Jerome Washington has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week for football.
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College senior Jerome Washington has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Offensive Player of the Week for football.
Washington carried the ball 30 times for 265 yards and two touchdowns in the Comets' 47-26 win over Albion College Oct. 14 at the Cutler Athletic Association. The 265 yards is the most by a MIAA player this season and the third-most in school history for a single game. Washington's touchdown runs covered 52 yards with 8:43 left in the second quarter and 14 yards with 10:02 remaining in the third quarter.
The Comets (4-2, 2-1 MIAA) take a break from MIAA play Saturday, Oct. 21, when it plays Benedictine (Ill.) University. Kick-off at the Village of Lisle Sports Complex is 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT.
