OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College senior defensive end Ryan Armstrong competed Dec. 23 at the 2014 All American Bowl, held at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. The game featured free agents and college seniors from the United States and Canada.
Armstrong was a member of the Stars team, which lost to the Stripes team, 22-21. The Stripes won when the kicker made a 41-yard field goal with 10 seconds remaining in the game.
"It was a surreal experience," said Armstrong. "Playing at AT&T Stadium and on the brand new turf which was put down for the Cotton Bowl was awesome. It was also a great experience playing with and against players across all levels of football."
In the game, Armstrong made three tackles, including a quarterback sack, to go along with two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. For his performance, he received the Jim Marshall Award for being the most outstanding defensive lineman on the Stars team.
