Olivet College names Ash as head cheerleading coach
Lisa Ash has been selected as the head cheerleading coach at Olivet College, according to an announcement by Athletic Director Ryan Shockey.
OLIVET, Mich. – Lisa Ash has been selected as the head cheerleading coach at Olivet College, according to an announcement by Athletic Director Ryan Shockey. She will oversee all aspects of the cheerleading program, including the sideline cheer squad and the STUNT program.
"We are pleased to welcome Lisa to the Comet family," said Shockey. "I am excited about the future of the program under her leadership. During the interview process, Lisa showed a great passion for the sport of cheerleading and dance. She will bring a new level of excitement to Olivet College athletics."
Ash was the cheer coach for the Olivet Junior Eagles program from 2014-17. She also served as the director of the Olivet Youth Cheer program from 2014-16.
"Joining the Olivet College Coaching staff gives me the opportunity to help shape today's student-athletes into tomorrow's leaders," said Ash. "I look forward to working with the amazing staff here, and I am excited to be working with a team of exceptional student-athletes."
In addition, Ash has served as the program director for the SIREN/Eaton Shelter in Charlotte since November 2017. While there, she performs many duties including providing support to the executive director, developing and maintaining relationships with various community leaders, overseeing the development of program standards, protocols, policies and guidelines, managing direct care staff and ensure the agency is running effectively. Prior to that, she was the SSVF case manager for Housing Services Mid-Michigan for two years and the case management assistant/intake/millage coordinator for the Region 3B Area Agency of Aging for a year.
Ash earned a bachelor's degree from Siena Heights University in 2015. She graduated from Charlotte High School in 2002 and was a part of the competitive cheer team.
Ash lives in Olivet with her husband, Chris, and three children, Justin, Madison and Brooklyn.
