ADRIAN, Mich. – The University of Olivet baseball team came up short against Adrian College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader today at Nicolay Field. The Bulldogs won 9-1 and 15-1.

- Records: Olivet 7-17 overall, 1-5 MIAA; Adrian 14-8 overall, 5-1 MIAA
- Adrian took a 1-0 lead with a run in the bottom of the first inning.
- Olivet quickly answered in the top of the second when sophomore Mason Cook hit a solo home run.
- The Bulldogs grabbed a 2-1 lead with a run in the fourth inning before adding two runs in the sixth and three runs in the seventh inning to post the 8-1 win.
- Cook tallied two of the seven Olivet hits.
- Sophomore Bryan Carney suffered the pitching loss after allowing six runs (five earned) on 10 hits over the first seven innings.
- Olivet scored the first run of the game in the top of second on an RBI single by freshman Brendan Monroe.
- In the home half of the second, the Bulldogs used a double and two wild pitches to tie the game. Later in the inning scored eight more runs after two outs were recorded.
- Adrian added three runs in both the third and sixth innings to record the 10-run mercy rule victory.
- Olivet had just two hits – a single each for Monroe, Cook and sophomore Nate Droste.
- Sophomore Charle Quilliam gave up nine runs (seven earned) on six hits over the first two innings to be charged with the loss.
- The Comets head to Albion College to play the Britons next Wednesday, April 10. The first pitch is at 4 p.m.
