MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The University of Olivet baseball team lost both games to Dean (Mass.) College in a non-conference doubleheader today at the Ripken Experience and on Crosley Field. The Bulldogs won by scores of 10-5 and 14-3.

- Dean took a 4-0 lead in the first inning when Nathan Suncar hit a grand slam home run.
- The Comets got one run back in the top of second on a sacrifice fly by sophomore Owen Smith.
- Olivet inched closer with another run in the fifth on another sacrifice fly, this one by junior Blake Hawkins.
- The Comets took a 5-4 lead with a three-run sixth inning. Driving in a run each were sophomore Ray Strzynski, freshman Jack Friesen and sophomore Will Myrick.
- The Bulldogs pushed across six runs in the bottom half of the sixth inning to pull out the 10-5 win.
- At the plate, Olivet had 10 total hits, including two apiece for freshman Austin Alflen and sophomore Braden Abbott.
- Extra base hits were doubles by Abbott, Friesen and Myrick, and a triple by freshman Brody Lehman.
- Sophomore Charlie Quilliam started on the mound and threw five innings, allowing four runs on three hits.
- Junior Niko Pons was tagged with the loss after giving up the first three runs in the sixth.
- Dean plated two unearned runs in the top half of the first inning.
- Olivet cut its deficit in half in the second on an RBI-double by Lehman.
- In the third inning, the Bulldogs sent 18 batters to the plate and scored 12 runs.
- The Comets managed only two more runs over the next three innings, and the game ended early due to the 10-run mercy rule.
