- The Quakers pushed across a run in both the first and second inning. The run in the second inning was unearned.
- The Comets loaded the bases with nobody out in the fourth inning. Junior Matt Fisher had Olivet's first hit in the game and advanced third on a double by senior Aaron Gillespie. Senior Riley Bennett was hit by a pitch to fill the bases. Earlham got out of the jam with a lineout, strikeout and groundout.
- In the bottom of fourth, the Quakers erupted for seven runs on four hits and two Olivet errors.
- Earlham capped the scoring with a three-run eighth inning.
- Olivet was held to three hits in the loss.
- Gillespie hit two doubles.
- Senior Zac Walter threw the first four innings and surrendered nine runs (two earned) on six hits.
- Sophomore Casey Huizenga tossed four innings of relief and allowed three runs on five hits, while striking out six batters.
- Joey Gerbus pitched eight solid innings to pick-up the win. He scattered three hits, struck out 10 and did not walk a batter.
- Out of the leadoff spot in the lineup, Marc Gendreau was 3-for-5 with three runs.
- Danny Dopp had two hits and drove in four runs.
- Cameron Wissel notched two hits, both doubles, and three RBI.
- Austin Hatfield also had three RBI.
- Olivet took a lead for the first time in the series after scoring two runs in the first inning on back-to-back RBI-doubles by Bennett and sophomore Ben Compton.
- The Quakers quickly erased their deficit with five runs on four hits in the home half of the first inning.
- Earlham added another run in the fourth inning.
- The Comets got one run back in the sixth inning when sophomore Matt Hewitt hit an RBI-double.
- The Quakers responded with a run in their half of the sixth inning.
- In the seventh inning, Olivet used three straight singles to load the bases and bring the tying run to the plate. The Comets were able to push across one run when Gillespie beat a throw to first on a potential ground ball double play.
- Earlham answered with a pair of two-out hits to score three runs in the last half of the seventh.
- Olivet pushed across one run and left two runners stranded in scoring position in the eighth inning. Freshman Sylas Woll drove in the run.
- The Quakers ended the game's scoring with a two-run eighth inning.
- Despite the loss, Olivet recorded 12 hits, as every starter had at least one hit.
- Bennett, Fisher and Hewitt were all 2-for-5.
- Compton scored two runs.
- Sophomore Brendan Redding was tagged with the pitching loss. He yielded six runs (five earned) on six hits over the first three and two-thirds innings.
- Senior Matt Rehfeldt gave up four runs on five hits over the next three innings.
- Senior Huston Snyder was credited with getting one out.
- Sophomore Drew Smith pitched the eighth inning.
- Earlham had 12 hits, with four players having a multi-hit game.
- Gendreau went 3-for-6 with a double, two singles and two runs scored.
- Hatfield also tallied three hits, including two doubles.
- Easton Embry registered two hits and three RBI.
- Devin Basley collected two hits.
- On the mound, Colin Greve earned the pitching win after allowing three runs on five hits over the first six innings. Two relievers combined to throw the final three innings.
- The Comets now leave for Florida on Wednesday for their annual spring break trip to the Sunshine State. Olivet's first game is Thursday afternoon against Alvernia (Pa.) University. First pitch from the Player Development Complex in Fort Myers is 3 p.m.
