The Olivet College baseball team was swept in a non-conference doubleheader by Anderson (Ind.) University today at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana. The Ravens won by scores of 26-2 and 16-2.

WESTFIELD, Ind. – The Olivet College baseball team was swept in a non-conference doubleheader by Anderson (Ind.) University today at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana. The Ravens won by scores of 26-2 and 16-2.
GAME 1: Anderson 26, Olivet 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Branton Sanders put the Ravens ahead 3-0 with a three-run homer in the home half of the first inning.
- Anderson took advantage of a Comet error to plate five unearned runs in the second inning.
- Olivet got two runs back in the top half of the third inning on RBI-singles by freshmen Riley Bennett and Logan Sella.
- The Ravens stretched their lead to 16-2 with an eight-run third inning.
- Anderson added another run in the fourth inning and nine runs in the sixth inning to cap its scoring.
FOR THE COMETS
- Sophomore Aaron Gillespie and freshman Jake Robinson each had two hits.
- Four pitchers combined to allow the 26 runs (11 earned) on 24 hits.
FOR THE RAVENS
- Sanders was 3-for-4 with five RBI and three runs.
- Adam Paschal went 2-for-2 with four RBI.
- Nick Butcher and Thomas Parker also scored three runs apiece.
- Clayton White earned the pitching win after throwing five innings. He allowed the two runs on five hits.
GAME 2: Anderson 16, Olivet 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Olivet took a 1-0 lead when Robinson hit a solo home run in the top half of the first inning.
- The Ravens immediately took the lead back with a pair of runs in their half of the first. Anderson pushed across eight more runs in the second inning and one run in the third inning to take an 11-1 lead.
- The Comets plated another run in the top half of the fourth inning. Robinson walked, stole second base and came around to score on Gillespie's RBI-single.
- Anderson added five runs in its part of the fourth inning to close out the game's scoring.
FOR THE COMETS
- Olivet was limited to four hits. Extra base hits were Robinson's home run and a double by freshman Logan Wheeler in the seventh inning. Gillespie and freshman Junior Gomez each had one hit.
- Three pitchers threw two innings apiece. Freshman Domanic Smith had the most success, as he walked one, struck out one and did not allow a hit.
FOR THE RAVENS
- Jonathan Willoughby went 3-for-3 and scored three runs.
- Joseph Moran also had three hits.
- Sanders tallied two hits and three RBI.
- Nick Jones earned the pitching win in relief of starter Jackson Bland.
UP NEXT
- Olivet now begins final preparations for its spring break trip to the RussMatt Invitational in Auburndale, Florida. While there, the Comets will play five nine-inning games. The first is Sunday, March 11, against Rutgers University-Camden (N.J.) at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex, starting at 9:30 a.m.
