Baseball team falls to FDU-Florham, 10-4
The Olivet College baseball team fell to Farleigh Dickinson University-Florham, 10-4, in its first spring break game at the RussMatt Invitational and inside the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale, Florida.

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Olivet College baseball team fell to Farleigh Dickinson University-Florham, 10-4, in its first spring break game at the RussMatt Invitational and inside the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale, Florida.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets took a 1-0 lead with an unearned run in the second inning.
- The Devils tied the game at 1-1 with their own unearned run in the bottom half of the second.
- FDU-Florham broke the game open with a five-run third inning before adding one run in the fourth and three runs in the fifth to go up 10-1.
- Olivet plated a run in the seventh inning. Freshman Dillon Mitchell walked, went to second on a balk, advanced to third on a fly out and scored on a wild pitch.
- The Comets scored a pair of runs in the eighth inning. Juniors Colton Dawdy and Kevin Hatcher hit back-to-back doubles to score the first run, and Mitchell's RBI-single plated Hatcher.
FOR THE COMETS
- Olivet recorded 10 hits in the game.
- Dawdy was 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
- Mitchell, senior Austin Cleaver and junior Aiden Holliday each had a pair of hits.
- On the mound, junior Joseph Crosby allowed seven runs (five earned) on nine hits in four innings to be tagged with the loss.
- Senior Brady Johnson struck out three, while giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits in three innings.
- Sophomore Travis Petts threw a scoreless inning of relief.
FOR THE DEVILS
- FDU-Florham pounded out 14 hits in the game.
- Five players collected two hits apiece.
- John Armstrong earned the pitching win after yielding an unearned run on six hits in six innings.
