Baseball team routs Hiram, 22-11, at Gene Cusic Classic
The Olivet College baseball team collected 28 hits en route to a 22-11 win over Hiram (Ohio) College this afternoon at the Gene Cusic Classic and inside Terry Park in Fort Myers, Fla.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Olivet College baseball team collected 28 hits en route to a 22-11 win over Hiram (Ohio) College this afternoon at the Gene Cusic Classic and inside Terry Park in Fort Myers, Fla.
Sophomore Stephen Botti (Decatur) topped the Comets' offense by going 5-for-7 at the plate with a double, four RBI and four runs scored. Senior Dylan Betcher (Lansing/Everett), freshman Nikolai Jump (Williamston) and junior Peter Panos (Davison) each had three hits. Panos drove in three runs, while Betcher and Jump scored four runs apiece.
Junior Joey Myers (Holt) and junior Drew Thompson (Canton/Salem) both collected two hits and two RBI. Senior Jonny Zawacki (Alpena) was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Senior Jake Ball (Cadillac) started on the mound and threw six innings to earn his first win of the young season. Sophomore Clark Vinton (Horton/Hanover-Horton) tossed a scoreless ninth inning to finish the game.
The Comets return to Terry Park tomorrow afternoon for a 4 p.m. game against Kenyon (Ohio) College.
