Baseball team beats Lakeland, 7-4, to end Spring Break trip with 5-3 record
The Olivet College baseball team defeated Lakeland (Wis.) College, 7-4, this morning at Terry Park in Fort Myers, Fla. With the win, the Comets finish their Spring Break trip to the Gene Cusic Classic with a 5-3 record.
FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Olivet College baseball team defeated Lakeland (Wis.) College, 7-4, this morning at Terry Park in Fort Myers, Fla. With the win, the Comets finish their Spring Break trip to the Gene Cusic Classic with a 5-3 record.
Sophomore Joey Myers (Holt) recorded three hits and two RBI. Senior Andrew Brawley (Niles) and sophomore Beau Langs (Climax/Climax-Scotts) each had two hits and two RBI. On the mound, freshman Colin Boak (Fowlerville) allowed two runs in six and two-thirds innings to pick-up his first collegiate win.
OIivet is now scheduled to open Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play next weekend with a four-game series against Alma College. The teams will play two games at Olivet's Cutler Athletic Complex next Saturday, March 23, and the series moves Sunday, March 24, to Alma's Klenk Park for two games. Both doubleheaders are slated to start at 1 p.m.
