Women’s team bowls at American Heartland Intercollegiate III & IV

WICKLIFFE, Ohio – The Olivet College women's bowling team competed Saturday and Sunday, Jan.30-31 at the American Heartland Intercollegiate III & IV. The two tournament round were held in Wickliffe, Ohio.
The Comets finished in 15th-place out of 18 teams at both tournaments. On Saturday, Olivet had a team score of 4,073 and a baker total of 1,952 for a team total of 6,025 pins. Individually, sophomore Loretta Hinds totaled 919 pins over her five games to place 28th out of 146 bowlers. Her high game was 202. Freshman Patricia Neely finished with an 844 total to place 55th. Freshman Jessica Stover also had 202 to tie Hinds' for the top game.
On Sunday, the Comets improved their total score by 41 pins, with a team score of 2,949 and a baker total of 2,717 for a team score 6,066 pins. Freshman Patricia Neely led Olivet, totaling 713 pins and high of 210. Hinds was close behind with a 707 pins, including a team-best 214 for her high game.
The Comets are now off until the final American Heartland Intercollegiate Tournament Saturday, Feb. 27.
NOTES: Saturday's scores featured five team games and three bakers. Sunday's scores were four team games and four bakers.
