Bowling: Olivet bowls at American Heartland Intercollegiates III and IV

WATERFORD, Mich. – The Olivet College women's bowling team competed Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 at the American Heartland Intercollegiate Championships III and IV at Century Bowl in Waterford.
The Comets placed 12th in both days of competition. On Saturday, freshman Loretta Hinds was 32nd of 95 bowlers with a 182.20 average over five games. Her high game was a 221. Freshman Bailey Tyler averaged 171 pins to finish in 45th-place. Her high was 209.
On Sunday, freshman Mackenzie Martin was Olivet's top bowler, averaging 161.60 pins to place 40th of 84 bowlers. Tyler finished 45th for a second straight day with a 155.40 average.
The Comets return to the lanes Saturday, Feb. 28, for the American Heartland Conference Championship at Pro Bowl West in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Action gets started at 9 a.m.
