Bowling: Olivet competes at American Heartland Intercollegiate Championship I & II
The Olivet College women’s bowling team competed Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 1-2 at the American Heartland Intercollegiate Championship I and I at the Palace Lanes in Columbus, Ohio.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Olivet College women's bowling team competed Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 1-2 at the American Heartland Intercollegiate Championship I and I at the Palace Lanes in Columbus, Ohio.
In Saturday's competition, the Comets placed 12th of 15 schools with a 721.25 average to finish ahead of Michigan State, Grand Valley and Davenport universities. Individually, freshman Loretta Hinds was 25th with a 171.75 average. Twice, she bowled a 190 for her high game. Freshman Bailey Tyler averaged 160.5 pins to tie for 38th-place. Her best game was a 170.
In Sunday's competition, Olivet improved its average by almost 40 pins with a 760.28 average to place 11th of 15 schools. Hinds had the Comets' best performance, as she was 17th with a 184.0 average, including a collegiate career-best 212 in her fourth game.
Olivet returns to action Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Adrian College Open. The competition will take place at the Lenawee Recreation Lanes.
