Olivet College’s Dunn and Mayle earn Academic All-District VI soccer honors
Olivet College sophomore Austin Dunn (Perry) and senior Jenna Mayle (Ionia) have earned Capital One Academic All-District VI Soccer honors, selected by College Sports Information Directors of America.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College sophomore Austin Dunn (Perry) and senior Jenna Mayle (Ionia) have earned Capital One Academic All-District VI Soccer honors, selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Both advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in November.
Dunn, who carries a perfect 4.0 grade point average (GPA) in biology, has 12-of-17 games played for the Comets. He has been a part of the backline, which has yielded only 32 goals in 18 games for a 1.73 goals against average. Dunn played in all 22 games during his freshman campaign, scoring six points (two goals and two assists).
Mayle, who has a perfect 4.0 GPA in visual arts, has started all 17 games for Olivet on defense. A captain, she has two goals for four points. On of Mayle’s goals was the game-winner in a 1-0 win over College of Mount St. Joseph (Ohio).
Mayle, a 2012 CoSIDA Academic All-District VI pick, has played in every possible game of her Olivet career (77), including 58 straight starts. Playing defense her entire career, she has eight points (two goals and four assists).
