Olivet College to induct five individuals into its Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019
Olivet College will induct five individuals into its Athletic Hall of Fame during Homecoming weekend in October. The official induction ceremony will take place inside The Cutler Event Center, as part of the college’s Alumni Awards Celebration October 11. They will then be recognized the next day prior to the football game vs. Adrian College.

Jason Brew '09 was a four-year letterwinner and three-year team captain on the wrestling team. He finished second in the 157-pound weight class at the 2008 and 2009 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships. Brew ended his Olivet career with a 129-29 record, including 29 pins. The 129 wins are the 10th-most all-time in school history. He holds the single-season record with 174 takedowns during his senior season. Brew was named the team's Most Valuable Wrestler in 2006, 2008 and 2009, and National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-American in 2009.
Brew graduated from Olivet with a bachelor's degree in education in physical education and health. He currently lives in Morristown, Tennessee, and is a teacher's assistant in the Hamblen County School District.
Audrey (Graham) Jackson '07 earned two varsity letters as a member of the women's basketball team. She was a two-time All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) First Team selection. Jackson was the MIAA scoring champion in 2006, and was second in the scoring race in 2007. In her first season at Olivet, she broke the single-season scoring record with 479 points. Jackson narrowly missed breaking her own record in her second season, finishing with 459 points. At the time of graduation, she ranked 1-2 on the single-season ledger for points and field goals made. Jackson still holds the Comets' single-season records for free throws made (126) and free throws attempted (157) in 2005-06. Despite playing only two seasons, she is eighth all-time in points (938) and field goals made (330), and tied for second in free throws made (223).
Jackson earned a bachelor's degree in marketing management from Olivet. She continued her education and earned a master's degree in education leadership from Western Michigan University in 2009. Jackson is the founder, owner and operator of the Hard Work Sports Basketball program in Battle Creek.
Dustin Meisner '08 lettered all four years on the men's swimming & diving team. He was a four-time All-MIAA honoree from 2005-08. Meisner was the MIAA champion in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2005, 2006 and 2007, and swam the breaststroke leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay in 2006. His performances helped the Olivet men win the MIAA championship in 2006 and 2007. In addition, Meisner qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2005, 2006 and 2007. He earned honorable mention All-American honors in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke in 2005, and 100-yard breaststroke in 2007. Meisner currently holds the school record in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke, and at the time of graduation, was a member of the school-record 200- and 400-yard medley relays.
Meisner's success in the pool carried over into the classroom. He earned College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) College Division Academic All-America® honors in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Meisner was the recipient of the MIAA's Albert H. Deal Scholar-Athlete of the Year award in 2008, and was a four-year recipient of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.
Meisner graduated from Olivet with a bachelor's degree in visual arts and biology. He lives in Sierra Madre, California. Meisner is currently working as an environmental health and safety specialist at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Lindsay (Pipkin) Skiff '09 earned four letters as a member of the women's golf team. She was the first female in school history to earn All-MIAA First Team honors four consecutive years. Skiff helped the Comets win three straight MIAA titles (2006, 2007, 2008), and berths to the NCAA Division III Championships (2007, 2008, 2009). As a senior in 2008-09, she was named to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Second Team, and the NGCA All-Great Lakes Region team. Skiff finished her Olivet career with an 83.1 stroke average over 92 rounds, and her low round was a 72.
Skiff was a four-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. She was also selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® College Division Women's At-Large team in 2009.
Skiff earned a bachelor's degree from Olivet in biology and pre-medicine concentration. She went on to earn a master's of science degree from University of Toledo (Ohio) in 2011. Skiff lives in Pinckney and serves as a physician's assistant with Associates in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in partnership with St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor.
Kyle Vanderhyde '09 was also a four-year letterwinner and three-year team captain on the wrestling team. He was a three-time NCAA Championships qualifier, finishing second in 2007 and fourth in 2008 in the 174-pound weight class. Vanderhyde posted a 110-20 record at Olivet. As a senior in 2008-09, he had a 39-7 record, with 29 wins being a major decision or better. He finished in sixth-place in the 174-pound weight class at the prestigious Midlands Championships, hosted by Northwestern (Ill.) University. Vanderhyde was the team's Most Valuable Wrestler in 2007 and 2009.
Vanderhyde was a three-time NWCA Scholar All-American. He was selected to the 2009 CoSIDA Academic All-America® College Division Men's At-Large First Team.
Vanderhyde graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics education. He left a teaching position at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey in 2012 to help work on and manage his family's dairy farm in Sparta.
