Women’s track & field team, Bailey receive USTFCCCA academic award
The Olivet College women’s track & field team along with rising junior Noah Bailey have received academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in 2017-18.
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Olivet College women's track & field team along with rising junior Noah Bailey have received academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) in 2017-18.
Under the tutelage of head coach Karen Lutzke, the women's team posted a 3.51 grade point average to pick-up USTFCCCA All-Academic team status. The criteria for selection is a 3.30 or above cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
Bailey is a recipient of the USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual award. To receive this award, the student-athlete must have a 3.30 or higher cumulative GPA and met one of the following athletic standards, 1) competed at the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor and/or Outdoor Track & Field Championships or 2) finished the regular season ranked in the top 35 nationally in an individual event or top 25 nationally in a relay event.
A computer science major, Bailey holds the school indoor record in the long jump (22 feet, 2-1/4 inches) and triple jump (42 feet, 7 inches), and the outdoor record in the triple jump (47 feet, 4-1/4 inches). His performance in the outdoor triple jump landed him on the All-Academic list.
