Dean Trailways Comets of the Week - February 26, 2024
The Dean Trailways Co-Female Comet of the Week is junior London Eldridge, of Stanton, and graduate of Central Montcalm High School. At the 2024 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships, Eldridge finished second in the 400-meter dash (1:01.35) and fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.91). She also ran the leadoff leg of the second-place 4x400-meter relay (4:17.48). The relay time ranks second in school history.
The Dean Trailways Co-Female Comet of the Week is senior Jennifer Mann, of Orange, California, and graduate of Villa Park High School. At the 2024 MIAA Swimming & Diving Championships, Mann placed second in the 400-yard individual medley (4:34.01) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.74), and sixth in the 1,650-yard freestyle (18:22.73). The 200-yard breaststroke time broke the school record. She also swam a time trial for the 100-yard breaststroke and set a school record at 1:04.95.
The Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is senior Jordon Brown, of Niles, and graduate of Niles High School. At the 2024 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, Brown won the league title in the long jump (22 feet, 7-1/4/ inches), 200-meter dash (21.64 seconds) and 400-meter dash (48.79 second). The winning mark in the long jump was an indoor personal best. The 200 time broke the MIAA Championship and school records.
