Bio

Maker of records! Through your athletic prowess, the pages of the MIAA statistical memoirs have been re-written. Football, track, management, coaching -- all have come under your purview. Few have achieved your level of excellence.

In 1960 you won honorable mention for the MIAA football roster, and were voted the most valuable player at that year’s Homecoming. You received first team honors for 1961 and 1962. Your acclaims extended to the All-State Associated Press for first team placement and to Ohio Northern University’s All Opponents Team. Your football records are most impressive: on several occasions you scored four touchdowns; you have kicked a 71 yard punt; you averaged over 5 yards per carry; and you rushed for nearly 2,000 yards during your Olivet career. Old timers remember Olivet’s victory over Albion in 1962 when you scored both winning touchdowns. For four years you were indeed a coach’s dream.

Now as a teacher, you direct the energies and sustain the hopes of young men and women as their mentor.

Today your colleagues honor you, and recall with you your outstanding records. In recognition of your achievements, Olivet College now inducts you into her Athletic Hall of Fame this 12th day of January 1991.
