#KnowYourComet: Sidney McIntosh
With only a few athletic teams competing this fall, we knew the Olivet College fans are going to miss sports just as much as our student-athletes, coaches and athletic staff. We are hoping to fill that void by having some special content on our website throughout the semester. On Wednesdays, you will get to #KnowYourComet through some questions and answers with a current Olivet College student-athlete. |
Question 1: What is your name?
Answer 1: Sidney McIntosh
Q2: What sport(s) do you play at Olivet?
A2: NCA, Sideline and STUNT cheerleading (OC Cheer and STUNT)
Q3: Have you earned any athletic honors at Olivet?
A3: two-year captain of the OC Cheer and STUNT team, Voted MVP and Most spirited in 2019
Q4: What is favorite Olivet athletic-related memory?
A4: Placing top 10 at NCA College Cheer nationals. It was the first time in OC Cheer history that we didn't get 14th place. We moved from 9th place to 7th place after finals and hit zero for the first time in OC cheer history. It motivated us all to come back and win that national title.
Q5: What is your major at Olivet?
A5: Journalism and Mass Communications
Q6: What is your favorite non-athletic memory from your time at Olivet?
A6: There really are so many awesome memories I've created over the last 4 years, but I think one of my favorites would be pledging Sigma Beta. I created lifelong sisters and friends through Sigma and have built a family on this campus that only motivates and inspires me daily.
Q7: Are you involved in anything else at Olivet?
A7: Yes, I'm the President of Black Student Union and Vice President of Sigma Beta literary society. I also work for the college Physical plant and am a PEER leader on campus.
Q8: Why did you decide to come to Olivet?
A8: One big reason was because I wanted to be on the first team to win a national title with the cheer program. After visiting though, I just loved the family bond on campus that you create. Olivet really became my home very fast because I was able to get involved early on and all the staff and students are friendly and help you in any and every way that they can. Everyone wants you to succeed and reach your goals here and that made my decision easy.
Q9: What did you during your time away from Olivet (from last March to moving back in August)?
A9: I stayed on campus living in my sorority Sigma Beta while working for the college Physical Plant. I spent a lot of time on the track this summer working out, building strength and working on my tumbling. This is my final season of cheer so I wanted to be in the best shape for this season and go out a champion.
Q10: What did you binge watch on Netflix/TV while in the stay-at-home order?
A10: I got really into Outer Banks, Queen of the south, Selling Sunset and of course Tiger King on Netflix.
Q11: What is one interesting fact about yourself that most people don't know?
A11: I have a YouTube Channel and want to host my own TV show one day!
Q12: Do you have any relatives who graduated from Olivet? If yes, who?
A12: No, I'll be the first, but hopefully not the last!
