Olivet College’s Mayle earns Academic All-America® honors
Olivet College senior Jenna Mayle (Ionia) has been named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America® Division III Women’s Soccer third-team, as selected by the College Sports Information Director of America.

OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College senior Jenna Mayle (Ionia) has been named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America® Division III Women's Soccer third-team, as selected by the College Sports Information Director of America.
A two-time CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District VI selection, Mayle has a perfect 4.0 grade point average in visual arts. In 2013, she earned her fourth varsity letter as a defender on the Comet women's soccer team. Mayle played in every possible game during her Olivet career, making 60 consecutive starts to end it. She finished her four-year career with eight points (two goals and four assists). This season, Mayle scored the game-winning goal in a 4-3 overtime win against Trine (Ind.) University.
A captain of the women's track and field team, Mayle holds the school record in the 400-meter hurdles (1:08.39). She also ran on the school-record 4x400-meter (4:11.12) and 4x400-meter (10:33.99) relays.
Off the soccer field and track, Mayle is vice president of art alliance. She is also a member of Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Hosford Society of Scholars, Omicron Delta Kappa (national honor society) and President's Leadership Institute. Mayle will be a four-time Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll recipient.
Mayle is the 14th Olivet student-athlete, but the first women's soccer player, in school history to earn Academic All-America® honors. She is daughter of Jason and Cindy Mayle of Ionia.

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 19,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
