FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College has placed 157 student-athletes on the 2020-21 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Academic Honor Roll.

Five Olivet College student-athletes named Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholars

Olivet College student-athletes Jalen Broussard, Andrew Campbell, Liam Kinjorski, Karina Marin and Rachel Webb have been named 2021 Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholars. They were recognized in the April 29 issue of the Diverse: Issues in Higher Education magazine.

Olivet College’s Murphy and Wallis competes at 2021 U.S. Nationals

CORALVILLE, Iowa – Olivet College’s Hunter Murphy placed sixth at the 2021 UWW Junior Nationals April 30 at the Xtreme Arena in Coralville, Iowa. Reese Wallis competed May 1 in the 65-kilogram division of the senior freestyle bracket.

MANHEIM, Pa. – Eight Olivet College wrestlers have earned 2021 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-American honors. The honorees are junior Dylan Briggs, sophomore Owen Guilford, senior Adam Hall, senior Cameron Mahlich, junior Hunter Murphy, junior Reese Wallis, sophomore Zach Wells and junior Dominick Wilson.

Wells and Wilson finish in fourth-place at 2021 NWCA Championships

CORALVILLE, Iowa – Sophomore Zach Wells and junior Dominick Wilson finished in fourth-place to lead the Olivet College wrestling team at the 2021 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Championships inside the Xtreme Arena. Team scores were not kept.

Wells and Wilson secure NWCA All-American honors, Wilson to wrestle in the semifinals

CORALVILLE, Iowa – The Olivet College wrestling team competed today in the first day of the 2021 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Championships at the Xtreme Arena. Team scores are not being kept. Highlighting day one action was junior Dominick Wilson and sophomore Zach Wells advancing to day two, and securing NWCA All-American honors.

Wrestling team wins 2021 MIAA Championship in dominating fashion

ALMA, Mich. – The Olivet College wrestling team won the 2021 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship in dominating fashion. The Comets defeated Alma, 35-9; Adrian College, 33-9; and Trine (Ind.) University, 37-9. Olivet won 23-of-30 bouts, and scored bonus points in 17 of the victories.

Wrestling team hosts triangular, loses to nationally-ranked Augsburg

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College wrestling team hosted a non-conference triangular inside the Cutler Event Center in Olivet. The Comets fell to Augsburg (Minn.) University, 30-12. All of the remaining matches during the event were exhibitions against the Auggies and Alma College.

The honorees are senior Cameron Mahlich, junior Reese Wallis, freshman Dylan Phelps, sophomore Hunter Murphy, sophomore Owen Guilford, senior Trevor Piggott and sophomore Dominick Wilson.
