Smith named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV third-team
Olivet College junior Stephanie Smith (Waldron/Camden Frontier) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV women’s basketball third-team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America.
OLIVET, Mich. -- Olivet College junior Stephanie Smith (Waldron/Camden Frontier) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV women's basketball third-team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America. The District IV teams are selected by sports information directors in Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.
Smith, who has a 4.0 grade point average in environmental science and biology, has started every game this season for the Comets. She is third on the team in scoring (8.8 ppg) and rebounding (4.5 rpg). Smith leads the team and is second in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) in three-pointers made (49). In addition, she ranks among Olivet's career leaders in three-pointers made (3rd, 134), attempted (5th, 397) and percentage (4th, 33.8).
Smith and the Comets (12-10, 8-5 MIAA) are back in action Saturday, Feb. 11, when they travel to play Alma College at 3 p.m.
