Olivet College’s Lenard earns Academic All-District VI honors
Olivet College senior infielder Lauren Lenard (Dimondale/Lansing Catholic) has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District VI Softball team, as selected by the College Sports Information Director of America (CoSIDA).
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College senior infielder Lauren Lenard (Dimondale/Lansing Catholic) has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District VI Softball team, as selected by the College Sports Information Director of America (CoSIDA). She now advances to the 2014 Capital One Division III Academic All-America ballot, where first-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced May 20.
Lenard, who carries a 3.85 grade point average in sports/recreation management, started all 37 games at first base for the Comets during the 2014 season. She was fourth on the team with a .347 batting average, while ranking among the team leaders in runs scored (23), doubles (10), hits (34), RBI (29), total bases (50), slugging percentage (.510), walks (19), sacrifice hits (11), stolen bases (five) and fielding percentage (.992).
A co-captain, Lenard helped Olivet post a 26-11 overall record, with the 26 victories breaking the single-season school record. She ended her career by breaking school all-time records for most games played (138), games started (136), walks (51), times hit by a pitch (7), fielding chances (820) and putouts (737). Lenard also ranks tied for first in RBI (76), tied for fourth in hits (119), sixth in at-bats (366), tied for sixth in total bases (146), eighth in on-base percentage (.415) and in runs scored (59), and ninth in doubles (21).
Lenard graduates May 17 and will travel to Orlando, Fla., May 27, to participate in the college program at Walt Disney World, working in the attractions department. For her excellence in the classroom, she earned either President's List (4.0 GPA) or Dean's List (3.5-3.99) every semester at Olivet, and will be a four-time Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Academic Honor Roll recipient and National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete.
