Thomas’ record-breaking day leads men’s volleyball team to two wins over Wabash
OLIVET, Mich. – Freshman Deontay Thomas broke two single-match record to lead the Olivet College men’s volleyball team to two wins over Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) foe Wabash (Ind.) College today inside the Cutler Event Center. In the second match against the Little Giants, Thomas achieved new school benchmarks for kills (25) and attack attempts (60). Freshman Everett Haynes broke the single-match record for a four-set match with 51 set assists.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Olivet College freshman Will Mensching has been named the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) Co-Defensive Player of the Week. History is made with the selection, as Mensching is the first Olivet player in school history to earn MCVL Player of the Week honors.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Olivet College men’s volleyball team split two Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) matches to Wittenberg University this afternoon at Pam Evans Smith Arena. The Comets won the first match by scores of 25-18, 22-25, 25-23, 25-23. The Tigers earned the split by winning the second match in three sets, 25-22, 25-14, 25-16.

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Olivet College men's volleyball team fell to Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) University twice in three sets in a weekend Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League doubleheader at the Harrington Center. The Lions won Saturday's match by scores of 25-13, 25-11, 25-15, and today's match by scores of 25-11, 25-12, 25-19.

After being swept in the first match (25-10, 25-15, 25-18), the Comets lost the second match in five sets (24-26, 25-18, 25-13, 20-25, 15-12).

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men’s volleyball team opened its 2021 season with a pair of losses to preseason Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League favorite Fontbonne (Mo.) University today at the Cutler Event Center. The Griffins won the first match in straight sets before winning the second match in four sets.
