Olivet College’s Meisner named to Academic All-District IV first-team
Olivet College junior Dustin Meisner (Temperance/Erie Mason) has been named to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV men’s at-large first-team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America.
OLIVET, Mich. -- Olivet College junior Dustin Meisner (Temperance/Erie Mason) has been named to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV men's at-large first-team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America.Meisner advances to the Academic All-America® College Division ballot.
Meisner, who carries a 4.0 grade point average in a double major of biology and visual arts, led the Comets to their second straight Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) swimming and diving championship in 2007. At the championships, he took first-place in the 200-yard breaststroke and was second in the 100-yard breaststroke.Meisner also competed in both events in at the 2007 NCAA Division III National Championships, earning honorable mention All-American honors with a 16th-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.
In 2006, Meisner was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America College Division third-team and ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV first-team.
The Academic All-America® program recognizes student-athletes who have succeeded in athletic competition and in the classroom. The members of the All-District IV teams are selected by sports information directors in Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee. To be eligible, the student-athlete must have legitimate athletic credentials and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20.
