Meisner named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV at-large first-team
Olivet College sophomore Dustin Meisner (Temperance/Erie Mason) has been named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV at-large first-team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College sophomore Dustin Meisner (Temperance/Erie Mason) has been named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV at-large first-team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America. Meisner advances to the College Division Academic All-America® ballot.
Meisner has a 4.0 grade point average in a double major of visual arts and biology. He was a member of the swimming and diving team, which won its first-ever Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championship in 2006. At the championships, Meisner took first-place in the 200-yard breaststroke and was the runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke. He also competed in both events at the 2006 NCAA Division III Championships.
Meisner holds the school record in the 100-yard breaststroke (:57.29) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:04.61). He also swam the breaststroke leg of the school-record setting 200-yard medley (1:35.65) and 400-yard medley (3:29.47) relays.
The Academic All-America® program recognizes student-athletes who have succeeded in athletic competition and in the classroom. The members of the All-District IV teams are selected by sports information directors in Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee. To be eligible, the student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20.
