Olivet College’s Pabst and Rozema named to Academic All-District VI football team
Olivet College seniors Andrew Pabst and Ty Rozema have earned 2015 College Sports Information Director of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District VI honors in football.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College seniors Andrew Pabst and Ty Rozema have earned 2015 College Sports Information Director of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District VI honors in football. They both are now eligible to earn CoSIDA NCAA Division III Academic All-America® honors. First-, second- and third-team selections will be announced on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
Pabst has started every game for the Comets on the defensive line. He ranks among the team leaders in total tackles with 24, with 11 solo and 13 assisted stops. Rozema has been the starting center on the offensive line for all eight games. Pabst and Rozema are both majoring in criminal justice. Pabst carries a 3.98 grade point average, while Rozema has a 3.83 GPA.
The Academic All-District teams include student-athletes divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. Olivet is in District VI, which includes schools in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. This is the fourth year of the expanded Academic All-America® program as CoSIDA moved from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non-Division I) and has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored. The expanded teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the new College Division combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
