Men’s and women’s cross country teams finish in seventh and ninth at MIAA Championships
The Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams finished in seventh- and ninth-place at the 2018 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships, hosted by Kalamazoo College and run at the Eastern Hills Golf Club in Kalamazoo.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams finished in seventh- and ninth-place at the 2018 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships, hosted by Kalamazoo College and run at the Eastern Hills Golf Club in Kalamazoo.
- Olivet ended the meet with 186 points, just four points behind sixth-place Adrian College and 36 points ahead of eighth-place Kalamazoo. Calvin College had the top five runners to finish with a perfect 15 team score.
- Sophomore Kyle Markley finished in 43rd place with a season-best time of 27:27.9.
- Senior Brad Thomas ran a season-best time of 27:43.7 to place 50th.
- Freshman Kyle McDowell was not far behind in 53rd-place with a time of 27:47.1.
- Senior Mark Smith completed the race in a season-best time of 27:51.6.
- Olivet totaled 261 points.
- Sophomore Morgan Greenman was the first Comet to finish, as she placed 54th with a time of 25:44.9.
- Sophomore Maisie Baker finished in 78th-place with a time of 26:52.2.
- Freshman Laura Tuttle was next in 84th-place with a time of 27:10.2.
- Senior Zoe Feighner crossed the finish line in 29:24.0.
- The Comets next compete Saturday, Nov. 10, at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Meet. Franklin (Ind.) College is the host school and the meet will take place at the Blue River Cross Country Course in Shelbyville, Indiana.
