Cross country teams place seventh and eighth at MIAA Jamboree
The Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams finished seventh and eighth at the 2016 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree, hosted by Alma and ran at the Pine River Country Club in Alma.

ALMA, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams finished seventh and eighth at the 2016 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree, hosted by Alma and ran at the Pine River Country Club in Alma.
THE BASICS
Location: Pine River Country Club; Alma, Mich.
FOR THE COMET MEN (8K RUN)
- The Comet men totaled 197 points, which was two points more than eighth-place Alma.
- Junior Bruce Baker placed 14th of 115 runners with a season-best time of 26:16.
- Senior Connor Bauserman finished in 33rd-place with a season-best time of 26:59.6.

- "One of our goals was to make improvement and we were able to do that. Today was a positive step in the right direction. Connor and Bruce had solid runs and ran season-best times, and I was pleased with them. Blake Wilson was not able to run all summer, and I was happy with his performance and completing an 8K race for the first time this year."
FOR THE COMET WOMEN (6K RUN)
- The Olivet women totaled 236 points, with all except one runner posting a season-best time.
- Senior Allyson Schultz was the top finisher, as she was 50th of 139 runners with a season-best time of 24:34.2.
- Junior Nicole Zerfas finished next at 25:35.7. The time was a season-best by more than two minutes.
- Sophomore Nicole Sebok and senior Brianna Wiles were next at season-bests 26:27.4 and 26:31.3, respectively.

- Olivet is now off until Friday, Oct. 7, when it competes at the Lansing Community College Invitational. The races will be held at Grand Woods Park.
