Women’s volleyball team wins twice at “Buc” Classic
The Olivet College volleyball team defeated the host Buccaneers in four sets and Martin Luther (Minn.) College in three sets at the Beloit (Wis.) College “Buc” Classic and at the Flood Arena in Beloit, Wisconsin. With the wins, the Comets finish their first weekend of the 2019 season with a perfect 4-0 record.

BELOIT, Wis. – The Olivet College volleyball team defeated the host Buccaneers in four sets and Martin Luther (Minn.) College in three sets at the Beloit (Wis.) College "Buc" Classic and at the Flood Arena in Beloit, Wisconsin. With the wins, the Comets finish their first weekend of the 2019 season with a perfect 4-0 record. Senior Madelyn Notenbaum was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player, and freshman Ellie Louiselle joined her on the All-Tournament Team.

- Senior Morgan Champion slammed down a team-high 13 kills.
- Louiselle and junior Laken Groll each had nine kills.

- Junior Mia Parker served a team-leading four aces, while Notenbaum and sophomore Drue Mullin had three aces apiece.
- Senior Gabrielle Mundt tallied a match-best 24 digs.
- Eva Laun-Smith recorded 16 kills.
- Amanda Baran had 10 kills.
- Paige Wimbrow registered 34 set assists.
- Jade Mosquera collected 17 digs.

- Champion led the way with 10 kills, followed by Louiselle and Mullin with eight apiece.

- Kelsey Birschbach and Alyssa Heckendorf each finished with eight kills.
- Jewel St. Germaine and Camryn Biebert split time at setter, collecting 17 and 13 assists, respectively.

- Olivet participates in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association-North Coast Athletic Complex Crossover Tournament next Friday and Saturday, Sept. 6-7, at Aim High Sports in Lansing. The Comets face Oberlin (Ohio) College Friday night at 5 p.m. On Saturday, they play College of Wooster (Ohio) at 12 p.m., and Allegheny (Pa.) College at approximately 2 p.m.
