Women’s volleyball team has 1-1 record on day one at #MarissaStrong Tournament
The Olivet College volleyball team had a 1-1 record on day one of at the 2018 #MarissaStrong Tournament, hosted by Knox (Ill.) College in Galesburg, Illinois. After losing to Illinois College in three sets, the Comets bounced back to sweep Anderson (Ind.) University in three sets.

GALESBURG, Ill. – The Olivet College volleyball team had a 1-1 record on day one of at the 2018 #MarissaStrong Tournament, hosted by Knox (Ill.) College in Galesburg, Illinois. After losing to Illinois College in three sets, the Comets bounced back to sweep Anderson (Ind.) University in three sets.
Final Score: Illinois College def. Olivet 25-16, 25-6, 25-17

Records: Olivet 5-5 overall, Illinois College 7-2 overall
- In the opening set, the Comets led 3-2 until the Lady Blues went on a 17-3 run to go up 19-6. Olivet was never able to recover from the deficit and lost the set 25-16.
- IC raced out to an 18-3 lead in the second set and never looked back, winning it by a 25-6 score.
- In the third set, the Lady Blues held the lead from start-to-finish.
- Junior Brittney Prince topped the team with six kills.
- Junior Morgan Champion and freshman Jordyn Emelander each had four kills.
- Junior Madelyn Notenbaum recorded 13 set assists and nine digs.
- Freshman Drue Mullin also collected nine digs.
- Ali Pankey topped all players with 12 kills, while Maddie Ramsey had eight.
- Elizabeth Ganley dished out 35 set assists.
- Madie Budd finished with 18 digs.
Final Score: Olivet def. Anderson 25-19, 25-21, 27-25

- Prince slammed down a team-high 13 kills on 16 attempts.
- Notenbaum had six kills to go along with 11 set assists and 11 digs.
- Champion posted seven kills and three service aces.
- Junior Gabrielle Mundt also collected 11 digs.
- Freshman Abigail Pray registered a team-high 16 set assists.
- Felicity Bontrager posted a team-high 11 kills.
- Kaycie Gates had 18 set assists.
- Brooke Troyer topped the team with 12 digs.
- Olivet plays Westminster (Mo.) College tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. ET, followed by a match against the host Prairie Fire.
