Women’s volleyball team drops four-set match at Trine
The Olivet College volleyball team suffered a loss to Trine (Ind.) University in four sets tonight at Hershey Hall in Angola, Indiana.

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College volleyball team suffered a loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Trine (Ind.) University in four sets tonight at Hershey Hall in Angola, Indiana.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Thunder were spotted a 15-2 lead in the first set and never looked back. Fifteen of the Trine points were the result of Comet attack, service or ball handling errors.
- Olivet held an 8-3 lead in the second set. The Comets maintained their five-point lead two more times at 11-6 and 14-9. The Thunder answered with a 12-1 run for a 21-15 lead. Olivet cut its deficit in half at 23-20 before two Trine kills ended the set.
- The Comets took advantage of eight Thunder errors to take a 10-4 lead in the third set. Olivet stretched its lead 11 points, 23-12. Trine scored two points before two Thunder attack errors brought the set to a close.
- Trine led the fourth set, 10-2. The Comets fought back and closed the gap to two points, 10-8 and 11-9. The Thunder pushed their lead back to five points twice, 14-9 and 16-11. Olivet responded with 6-0 run for its first lead in the set, 17-16. The teams traded 2-0 runs to put the Comets back on top, 19-18. Trine went on its own 6-0 scoring spurt to surge ahead 24-19. Olivet saved two match points before a Thunder kill concluded the set.
FOR THE COMETS
- Sophomore Brittney Prince posted team-highs in kills (eight), total blocks (five) and assisted blocks (four).
- Senior Courtney Cronkright was next with seven kills.
- Sophomore Madelyn Notenbaum recorded a double-double with a team-leading 22 set assists and 12 digs.
- Cronkright and sophomore Gabrielle Mundt each tallied 11 digs.
FOR THE THUNDER
- Madison Munger finished with nine kills.
- Raven Hood collected 17 set assists.
- Lindsey DeCamp registered 18 digs.
