Volleyball: Comets split two matches at Albion Triangular
The Olivet College volleyball team split two matches today at Kresge Gymnasium in Albion. The Comets fell to Albion in four sets before bouncing back to sweep Earlham in three sets.

ALBION, Mich. – The Olivet College volleyball team split two matches today at Kresge Gymnasium in Albion. The Comets fell to Albion in four sets in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) match before bouncing back to sweep Earlham (Ind.) College in a non-conference match.
Albion defeated Olivet 25-22, 18-25, 25-18, 28-26. Senior Stefanie Lang slammed down 25 kills to lead the Comets. Junior Marissa Guile and sophomore Gabrielle Trudell recorded seven kills apiece. Trudell also had five blocks, including three solo.
Senior Taylor Pringle dished out 23 assists, while sophomore Danielle Bearden had 18. Sophomore Mona Hinamanu led the team with 13 digs.
The Comets swept Earlham by scores of 25-15, 25-11 and 25-15. Lang contributed 12 kills with only three errors on 22 attempts for a match-high .409 hitting percentage. Bearden and Pringle each collected 11 assists. Freshman Courtney Cronkright topped the defense with seven digs.
Olivet hosts Trine (Ind.) University next Wednesday, Sept. 24. First serve inside The Cutler Event Center in Olivet is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
