Volleyball team falls to Tri-State (Ind.) in four games
The Olivet College volleyball team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Tri-State (Ind.) University 30-25, 24-30, 30-22, 30-22 tonight at Hershey Hall in Angola.

The Comets (4-19, 3-9 MIAA) were led by Sydney Kuipers (Charlotte), who recorded match-high honors in kills (20) and digs (22). She was followed by junior Kara Brinker (North Branch) and senior Katie Schaum (Marshall) with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Brinker had one attack error in 24 chances for a team-high .417 hitting percentage.
Sophomore Jessica Petkus (Milford) had 47 set assists. Also posting double digit digs were Schaum with 21, freshman Natalee Singleton (Sand Lake/Lakeview) with 19 and sophomore Meghan Smith (Rochester Hills/Adams) with 18. Freshman Mackenzie Heator (Union City) contributed five blocks.
The Comets will travel to Alma College for a MIAA tri-match Saturday, Oct. 22, beginning at 10 a.m. The order of the matches is Olivet versus Alma, Olivet versus Kalamazoo College and Kalamazoo versus Alma.
