Jolliff wins pole vault title at MIAA Field Day
OLIVET, Mich. – Senior Gabby Jolliff won the pole vault title to help the Olivet College women’s track and field team stand in a tie for sixth after the first day of the 2023 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Day. The Comets are hosting the championships on the Kolassa Track and inside the Cutler Athletic Complex.

OLIVET, Mich. – Senior Gabby Jolliff won the pole vault title to help the Olivet College women's track and field team stand in a tie for sixth after the first day of the 2023 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Day. The Comets are hosting the championships on the Kolassa Track and inside the Cutler Athletic Complex.
- After six events, Olivet and Alma College share sixth in the team standings with 14 points apiece. Hope College leads Calvin University by four points, 58 to 54, followed by Trine (Ind.) University, 40; Albion College, 30; and Adrian College, 24.
- Joliff won her third straight league title in the pole vault, as she also won the event at the 2022 Field Day and the 2023 Indoor Championships. Today's winning mark, 11 feet, 2-1/4 inches, was a season best.
- Sophomore Berniah Alexander was seventh in the shot put with a season-best mark of 37 feet, 2-1/2 inches.
- Sophomore Emily Norkowski finished seventh in the long jump (15 feet, 7 inches). She will also run in the finals of the 100-meter hurdles after posting the third-quickest preliminary time at 15.74 seconds, which is a career-best.
- Sophomore London Eldridge ran the second-fastest preliminary time in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:08.31.
- Junior Lily Connelly advanced to tomorrow's finals in the 400-meter dash, as she posted the third-fastest preliminary time at 59.97 seconds. It was also a season-best time for her.
- Freshman Natalia Johnson completed the 100-meter dash in a season-best time of 13.36 seconds to earn the last spot in tomorrow's finals.
- Day two of the MIAA Field Day is tomorrow. The finals in the field events are at 12 p.m., followed by track event finals at 3:30 p.m.
