Albaugh qualifies for 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Olivet College freshman Lillian Albaugh has qualified to compete in the shot put at the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships Thursday-Saturday, May 23-25 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Olivet College freshman Lillian Albaugh has qualified to compete at the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships Thursday-Saturday, May 23-25 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Albaugh will compete in the shot put. Her season-best mark of 44 feet, 4-3/4 inches gives her the No. 20 seed in the event, which will take place Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. Albaugh represented Olivet at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in the same event. She was the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) indoor and outdoor champion in the shot put, and holds the school record.
In field events, each competitor will be allowed three attempts in the preliminary round. The competitors with the nine best performances in the preliminary round, after tie-breaking, will advance to the final round. In the final round, each competitor will be allowed three more attempts. The top eight performers will earn All-American honors.
