Track & field teams participate in GVSU Al Owens Classic
The Olivet College men’s and women’s track & field teams participated in the Grand Valley State University Al Owens Classic in Allendale.

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's track & field teams participated in the Grand Valley State University Al Owens Classic in Allendale.
FOR THE MEN
- Noah Bailey placed third in the long jump with a mark of 43 feet, 9-3/4 inches. He also finished with the eighth-best mark in the long jump a 21 feet.
- Bruce Baker ran the 1,500-meter run in a personal-best time of 4:00.89.
- Jontavious Carter posted a season-best mark of 124 feet, 2 inches in the hammer throw.
- Tyler Chavalia made the finals in the 100-meter dash and had the sixth-fastest time in the finals at 11.01 seconds.
- Justin Maidlow completed the 800-meter run in a personal-best time of 2:12.31.
- Jacob Smith was seventh in the shot put with a season-best mark of 46 feet, 4-1/4 inches.
- Mark Smith had a season-best time of 4:20.38 in the 1,500-meter run.
- James Thurman finished the 1,500 in a personal-best time of 4:35.96.
FOR THE WOMEN
- Morgan Emens posted personal-best marks of 27 feet, 2 inches in the shot put and 61 feet, 2-1/4 inches in the javelin.
- Madison Grace notched a season-best performance of 108 feet, 10 inches in the discus throw.
- Isabelle Leon had a season-best time of 4:58.17 in the 1,500-meter run. Nicole Zerfas and Abigail Gaines both ran personal-best times in the 1,500 at 4:59.62 and 5:26.30, respectively.
- Mallory Ronk recorded a season-best mark of 105 feet in the hammer throw.
- Jessica Taylor threw the javelin for a personal-best distance of 81 feet, 7 inches.
