Kaliniak tabbed MIAA Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
For the second time this season, Olivet College junior Michaela Kaliniak has been tabbed the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
FREELAND, Mich. – For the second time this season, Olivet College junior Michaela Kaliniak has been tabbed the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
At the Grand Valley State University "Big Meet", Kaliniak set a school record in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 10 feet and 8-3/4 inches. She started the competition by going over the bar on the first attempt at 10 feet and 3/4 inches. Kaliniak needed two tries for a successful clearance at the school-record height.
"Michaela has been putting in the work to get better and the results are showing," said head coach Karen Lutzke. "She continues to improve and we are excited about her progress."
Olivet competes Saturday at the Hillsdale College Tune-up Invitational. Field events start at 9:30 a.m., followed by running events at 11 a.m.
