Women’s tennis team suffers 8-1 loss at Calvin
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College women’s tennis team was defeated by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Calvin University, 8-1, today at the Strikwerda Outdoor Tennis Center.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College women's tennis team was defeated by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Calvin University, 8-1, today at the Strikwerda Outdoor Tennis Center.

Records: Olivet 4-8 overall, 0-4 MIAA; Calvin 4-5 overall, 2-3 MIAA
- Olivet had only five players for the match. Thus, the Knights earned default wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles. Calvin won the two contested doubles matches, and 4-of-5 contested singles matches.
- Senior Desiree Luque Pradas earned Olivet's lone win, as she won in straight sets 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles.
- Luque Pradas and sophomore Makenize Borg lost a close pro-set, 8-5, at No. 1 doubles.
- With the win, Luque Pradas improves her season record to 9-3, including 3-1 mark against MIAA opponents.
- The last Olivet women's tennis players to win at least nine matches in one season were Caitlin LaValley and Giana Guerra. Both finished the 2011 season with 11 wins.
- Olivet is on the road Thursday afternoon to play Albion College at 4 p.m.
