Women’s tennis team, five players earn ITA academic honors
The Olivet College women’s tennis team and five players have earned academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) in 2018-19.
TEMPE, Ariz. – The Olivet College women's tennis team and five players have earned academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) in 2018-19.
Under the leadership of head coach Andrew Debruyn, the Comets had a 3.44 grade point average (GPA) to be named to the ITA All-Academic Team. This award is presented to any ITA program that has a cumulative team GPA of 3.30 or higher.
The five players who earned ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades are Rae Claramunt, Emily Foulk, Julia Miklusicak, Miranda Pier and Sydnie Weller. The criteria for selection is be a varsity letterwinner, have at least a 3.50 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for the academic year, and enrolled at present school for at least two semesters.
Claramunt, Pier and Weller have earned this honor for a third straight year. Foulk and Miklusziak are first-time recipients.
