The Olivet College women’s tennis team slipped past Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Alma College, 5-4, this afternoon at the Superior Street Tennis Courts in Alma.

ALMA, Mich. – The Olivet College women's tennis team slipped past Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Alma College, 5-4, this afternoon at the Superior Street Tennis Courts in Alma.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets won two-of-three doubles matches and split the six singles matches for the narrow 5-4 victory.
FOR THE COMETS
- The No. 1 doubles duo of senior Rachael Hager and junior Rae Claramunt, and the No. 3 doubles duo of junior Nicole Losey and sophomore Taylor Robbins posted identical 8-6 pro-set wins.
- Hager coasted to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.
- Sophomore Miranda Pier posted a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles.
- Losey scored the fifth team point with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles.
- Claramunt and sophomore Alex Lesko lost three-set matches at No. 3 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Claramunt won the first set, 6-3, before her opponent won the next two sets with matching 6-4 scores. Lesko lost the first set 6-4 before evening the score with a 7-5 win in the second set. She fell 11-9 in the match tiebreaker.
